Itchy skin after bath?

My middle son 11) says his skin is very itchy after his bath time, I even see him scratching his legs right now. His skin also gets real wrinkly, but what can I do to stop the itch?

He says its most itchy at his face, legs, arms and back

Itchy skin after bath?
Make sure he isnt getting his bath water too hot and keep his skin moisturized. If that is not the case have a doctor see him becuase he may may a mild skin condition.
Reply:Sounds like dry skin maybe. Does he have a rash or anything? You could try using a moisturizer after his bath and see if that helps. Or if he is using a bubble bath try eliminating it and see if the itching stops, maybe he is allergic to a product.
Reply:the water could be too hot. i had this problem before, it just may mean his body can only take a certain high of temp. thats what it was with me. i cut my water temp down and never itched again..
Reply:my fiances niece has the same problem she is allergic to water and the pH level has to be a certain level then after her bath time she has to use moisturising creams as well... see ur local dr they shud be able to let u the the problem and give u advice
Reply:Throw out your bar soap -- I mean it; don't let anybody else who uses the same tub/shower as him use regular soap -- and get some very plain liquid soap. Johnson's Baby Body Wash, or any generic version thereof, is good.

And see what happens...

He might want to slap on a thin layer of a plain moisturizer, too. But try ditching the soap first.
Reply:Change soap, if that doesnt help change the washing powder or clorox you wash the towels and his clothes with he use.
Reply:does he use very hot water or does he just need some lotion??
Reply:Aveeno Oatmeal bath is the best thing for itchy, irritated skin. It could be a form of psoriasis. You might have to have him checked out by a dermatologist.

Aveeno Oatmeal lotion will heal his rough, dry skin as well. Very soothing.
Reply:I think the soap my be the cause. I used to get itchy after taking showers too and my doctor told be to switch to a different soap and i stopped getting itch. If you want to do something about it now then put some hydorcortosone cream on the itchy parts.
Reply:Is he allergic to the chemicals in the soap, shampoo and so on? Some people are more sensitive to it.

Dry skin possibly. Reaction to the chemicals in the towel he uses to dry off with???

Possibly try perfume free products and products with alcohol in it (which dries out the skin more). Good Luck
