Fever and Itchy Skin?????

I have had a week from hell! My infant was hospitalized with RSV, daddy is a truck driver so my 3 year old and I were stuck in the hospital for 5 days. The morning of our discharge (yesterday) my 3 year old woke up with a temp of 101.4. I have been giving him tylenol and motrin. So now he has no fever. But he started complaining tonight after his bath that his skin is itchy. I am so worried. Any Ideas???

Fever and Itchy Skin?????
give him alittle bendryl, but call ur doctor and don't take any chances, also keep the baby away incase it ischickenpox or measles. good luck and god bless because it is so hard when ur babies are sick
Reply:He could be allergic to the motrin. Does he have a rash?
Reply:Poor mom! Just one sick kid can wipe you out!

If it was after his bath...could he have had a reaction to what you bathed him with? Especially with keeping the heat on this time of year, it dries skin out and makes it more sensitive.
Reply:If your infant was diangosed with RSV, have you been tested for hepatitis c???? Just curious as I had HCV and when my son was a newborn he had RSV...and they (docs and scientists) might think theres a link....((not to all cases, but some)).

As for your 3 year old, usually itchy skin is liver or kidney related-due to allergy of some sort. However, since there is fever present, he might be in early signs of chicken pox...has he had the vaccine? (if so recently??)
