Dry, itchy skin under the eyes - HELP!?

I've been on and off in this condition for several months. Changed cosmetics, shampoo and laundry detergent, room heating, all prime suspects. I should note that my health condition is excellent (except this!) and I never had any problems; also, I have a balanced diet and sleep at least 7 hours per day.

The skin under my eyes becomes a shade darker than the rest of my face, slightly reddish, itchy and then dry and somewhat flaky. This doesn't happen all the time though. It seems like the condition is doing "circles".

I've been to my GP a couple of times and asked for a dermatologist. He gave me some generic pills and a generic cream (can't remember the names) and off I go. Didn't help. I saw another GP: same thing.

While I'm in the process of finding new, imaginative ways of killing GPs, are there any kind souls out there with a similar condition or any knowledge about the problem? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

This happens to me too, but on my upper eyelid. It started happening after I had a bad reaction to some eyeliner I used. I just wash my face thoroughly and but a little bit of Aveeno non scented lotion on my eyelid, works for me won't hurt to try it.
Reply:It sounds like dermatitis. I had it on my neck a couple years ago. Unfortunatly your wasting going to the doctor...you need need to go to a dermatologist(which can be expensive). He/she will be able to prescibe some form of medication according to the severity, type(there are many different types) and location of the problem. Its not really a serious condition but needs to be treated to subside.
Reply:LOL ur funny..u know that?i think u have to find a dermatologist or optician to treat this one 4 u....maybe u have an allergic reaction to something OR u have an eye problem OR there is a toxic irritant eating into ur eyeballs which would make ur eyes gorge out and burst...................................... kidding hahahahahaha
Reply:I recommend to you Healthy Glow: Good Nutrition = Healthy Skin (http://www.ediets.com/news/article.cfm/c...
Reply:This sounds like an allergic condition. Allergy sufferers often have large dark circles under the eyes. You could be allergic to something you are eating. Wheat, Dairy Corn? It is possible to develop an allergy as an adult. Good luck.
Reply:try to use natural creams with a plant called aloe vera,

it hydrates dry skins, and helps to stop irritations

good luck
