Itchy skin after bath?

My youngest son (9) says his skin is very itchy after his bath time, I even see him scratching his legs right now. His skin also gets real wrinkly, but what can I do to stop the itch?

He says its most itchy at his face, legs, arms and back.

Itchy skin after bath?
He needs a moisturizer! Staying in a bath with soap tends to dry out skin, especially during the colder months. Make sure he is hydrated and drinking enough fluids. He may have eczema, check it out with his pediatrician.
Reply:the water might b to hot! or it could b that he not rinsing the soap off all the way!?

use some aloe to make ther ichyness 2 go away! =D
Reply:Ironically, water can dry out the skin. He can try bath mineral oil, but I would suggest he switch to showers and keep them short, because it sounds like he has sensitive skin.
Reply:use a bath salt, and moisturizing mild soap like dove, and a mild or unscented lotion
Reply:i use to be the same when i was younger...it was because of the soap i would use
Reply:This could be from a few reasons:

If you use any cleaning product in or around the bath, this could be an irritant to his skin.

Is he using soap or bubble bath? He could have an allergy. Try something more gentle like Johnson %26amp; Johnson.

This could be dry skin, make sure he moisturizes afterward.

Does he dry off with towels afterward? The dryer sheet, laundry soap or softner could be an irritant.

The most common reason is hard water. You may want to have it checked for excessive minerals or toxins. Have it tested and go from there. All you may have to do is get a new salt block or filter.

Good luck!
Reply:well, you should buy dove soap with moisturizer in it
Reply:1] quit using bar soap. Buy him a moisturizing, hypoallergenic body wash like Aveeno [ read labels ]

2] short showers instead of long baths

3] using a new detergent or softener on towels?

4] buy him some hypoallergenic lotion, and lube him up after he dries off and puts his briefs on - you can reach his back for him, he can do the rest [ I used to keep the lotion in the tub or shower so it would warm up with the water ]

5] maybe you need a humidifier?
