Dry & itchy skin in cold weather?

What can I do for my dry, itchy skin that I get everytime it starts to get cold out. Lotions seem to irritate it more than help it, I've used 5 different kinds. I drink water all day long and I use Ivory soap. I seem to be doing everything to try and prevent it yet I am tortured by it every year! What can I do to soothe my skin, especially legs which seem to get even worse because of shaving?

Dry %26amp; itchy skin in cold weather?
Arbonne has a great lotion for this. My Mom's been using it and raves about it.

NutriMinC® RE9 REfinish, Hydrating Body Lotion- Scientifically-advanced liposome delivery system delivers antioxidant vitamins and helps protect skin. An extremely hydrating formula that leaves skin feeling supple and healthy.
Reply:After you take a shower, lightly dry off and apply Victorias Secret pampering body lotion. Thats what I use, pricey but effective. Its important you use it right after you get out of the shower, and put it all over your body. Use it morning and night, but not on your face. Use a face moisturizer there. If that doesnt help, see a dermatologist. You may have a skin problem.
Reply:Hey, I get the same problem too..^_^

Try Nivea creme......Its very very very very nice..^_^

ahh.........
Reply:try to use mary kay lotion or go to your docter to see if there is something out there to use. Ivory for my son and me is an irritation to the skin and makes it worse we use dove and mary kay satin hands lotion set
Reply:First it's the soap your using. Second try aloe vera gel and check your water it may be too hard on your skin get a watersoftner for your house.
Reply:I recently went to a seminar featuring a dermatologist. He stated the best thing he had come across in years was the Olay Body wash, the one with the yellow cap. He stated it was because the second ingredient in it was vaseline. The vaseline helps seal the body off from the cold air, which takes a lot of moisture out of your skin. Give that a try. And as far as lotions go, I find that the lotions with oatmeal in them have really helped me.
Reply:Try not to use hot water in your shower, and use sensitive skin lotion at least twice a day. Use a shaving lotion to shave. I just discovered Olay in shower moisturizing lotion, and I think it works great! Good luck. I have the same problem, and the cold Chicago weather does not help!
Reply:When you get out of the shower, pat dry with a towel ( leave skin slighlty damp) and apply adults body oil on your skin then apply a great moisturizer. Something to look for.... The thicker the lotion, the better it moisturizes. My skin is the same way. Do this during the summer too that way your skin stays soft and smoothe all year.
Reply:I would stay away from Ivory soap and use something more gentle and moisturizing. One I would recommend would be Dove's Deep Moisture body wash. Dove's All Day Moisturizing Body Wash gives you soft, smooth skin all day so you can feel great in your skin. Dove's special formula contains hydrating emollients to moisturize as it cleans so your skin feels soft, smooth and supple all day long. Dove Deep Moisture formula contains lush, rich emollients for dry skin. Also, I would follow up with Olay Moisturinse In Shower Body Lotion Deep Moisturization for Extra Dry Skin. It infuses your skin with nourishing moisture at the ideal moment for moisturizing skin.

It's a rinse-off body lotion that works with the warmth and humidity of your shower to give your skin a soft, natural glow. Daily use will improve hydration of normal to dry skin in 5 days. After cleansing with your usual body wash or bar soap, and while still in the shower, smooth onto wet skin, then rinse.

Step out of the shower and experience softer, smoother skin. I would recommend this product to anyone. It lasts all day!
