Itchy skin after bath?

My youngest son (9) says his skin is very itchy after his bath time, I even see him scratching his legs right now. His skin also gets real wrinkly, but what can I do to stop the itch?

He says its most itchy at his face, legs, arms and back

Itchy skin after bath?
Put some aveeno oatmeal stuff in his bath after he's all washed up, and use a gentle moisturizing soap like dove for washing, then rub him down with unscented aveeno baby lotion after bath.
Reply:could be the soap or bubbles in the water. try a bath without adding anything to the water. also he can try a shower instead of a bath.
Reply:dry skin
Reply:Perhaps the soap he is using is causing dry skin or he is allergic to it. Sometimes I get itchy after a bath and it's because I need to moisturize, so you could try some lotion on his skin.
Reply:This happens to me sometimes, after his bath put moisturizing lotion on him (like lubriderm), it should help alot. If you are too worried consult a doctor, not Y! Answers.
Reply:sounds like dry skin. use lotion. eucerin is very good for very dry skin.
Reply:if you are using MR BUBBLE stop it.

Try a different kind of bubble bath...it might be a good idea to change soaps...even wash him everywhere with the baby soaps and when bathtime is over add babyoil to his skin.

I hope this helps

Reply:its most likely he has dry skin...or he is allergic to a soap he is using..
Reply:Its winter which mean dry skin and lots of it, try an oatmeal bath they work wonders
Reply:Try using cetaphil. They sale the body wash, which is better than using soap. He should also use the cetaphil moisturiser after he gets out of the bath. The product contains 0 dye, 0 fregrance so it does not irritate the skin.
Reply:It may be that the water is too hot and causing his skin to dry out. Use a good moisturizer on him. Also you might want to try having him take showers instead. And make sure the water isn't too hot and don't let him stay in to play. Get clean and get out.
Reply:It could be an allergic reaction to his shampoo, conditioner, cleaner used in the tub, bubblebath, his towel.....too much bleach in the towels? Try switching to a plain, organic type of wash for his bath. Also, use moistureizer after the bath and unless he needs it bathe him only 3-4 times a week. Don't forget to check the bleach on the towels as well. Good luck.

Both Aveno and Burt's Bee's make really gentle products that I find are great for sensitive skin.
