How to soothe dog's itchy skin?

I have tried medicated shampoos, anti-itch creams and conditioner on my doggie, but she is still bothered by itchy skin just above her tail. It is not fleas, and I do not see any rash or dermatitis. Suggestions?

there are a few things i can think of that would be a good idea to try:


*have your vet check your dogs anal glands to see if they are full or impacted, which can cause an animal to chew their hind end resulting in hair loss


*switch to a hypo allergic diet like science diet z/d to see if your dog is allergic to an ingredient in it's food


*have a dermatologist do allergies testing to determine if your dog is allergic to something in it's environment

Reply:it could be some type of allergies maybe food allergies you could try some oatmeal shampoo and change her diet
